I've modded a 8MB Memory Card using this model, SCPH-7700. It's already chipped but since the DVD Driver is 3.11 I modded the MC using FreeDVDBoot to install Free MC Boot (Multi-Install, v1.966). After doing so, I swapped to my fat model, SCPH-5000, and set everything else up there (OPL, adding OPL to the browse menu).
Mar 7, 2022 · Besides that, if FMCB is installed on Memory Card and is inserted, PS2 will always boot from it. So if You have FMCB and FHDB, it will always boot FMCB from card. Your problems are probably because of modchip. Disable it (if there is such possibility) or unsolder it and check the results. PS2 fat 3901.

And as a reminder, at one point you can select between two different types for the drive. I don't remember what the other one is called, but you want to format as Master Boot Drive (or if it wasn't "drive", it was very similar to that, Master Boot something). Otherwise PS2 won't work with it even in FAT32 format. 2.

If you are in the US, you can get an original Sony-MC with FMCB pre-installed for ~7$! Even if it was with working laser, freeDVDboot couldn't work on that version. But best bet is if someone you know has modded PS2, to install it for you. Other is if you have or get access to memory card reader for PC. There's application to install FMCB with
Dec 19, 2023 · Mine was so poorly manufactured it wouldn't fit properly to the back of my Fat PS2 and I had to physically push and hold the thing in the entire time with my FreeHDBoot hard drive installed long enough to be able to make a Free McBoot memory card. Other than making the Free McBoot memory card that Gamestar adapter was worthless to me.
